Kroger recently introduced a new version of their “Feed the Hungry” boxes. A part of the company’s ongoing Zero Hunger | Zero Waste initiative, the boxes make it easy for generous Kroger customers to donate to their local food bank.
The boxes contain enough food for 10 meals, including non-perishable items such as oats, beans, canned meats, canned vegetables, peanut butter and juice.
To help keep the box cost low, Kroger’s managers and associates packed the boxes.
Customers are invited to purchase a box from a special “Feed the Hungry” display and place it in the store donation bin. FASWVA picks up the contents of the bins regularly and distributes the boxes to our partner programs throughout Southwest Virginia.
In addition to the newly-revamped food boxes, Kroger is also offering customers the chance to “round up” at the register to donate to Feeding America Southwest Virginia. Simply round up your purchase total to the nearest dollar, and FASWVA gets the difference.
Thank you, Kroger, for your commitment to feeding the hungry this holiday season!
