Whew – what a summer! Providing more than 31,000 meals and snacks to kids this summer, the “No School, No Lunch” challenge from Kroger Zero Hunger | Zero Waste nourished FASWVA’s crucial summer feeding programs. The challenge inspired 705 gifts and grossed over $50,000 on top of Kroger’s $30,000 challenge contribution.
Thank you to all our generous donors, food bank staff, an army of AmeriCorps members, wonderful volunteers, and Kroger! When school is out, the pressure is on families to provide additional meals and snacks for growing kids. Sometimes, budgets just can’t stretch that far. But thanks to YOU Southwest Virginia’s kids stayed nourished all summer long.
