The work of Feeding America Southwest Virginia wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of the community. In 2013, our donors alleviated hunger in the region by helping us distribute 20 million pounds of food – the equivalent of 16 million meals. Our strong network of partners and affiliations enables us to leverage every dollar donated into 12 meals.

Hunger is an equal-opportunity problem. Its impact isn’t limited to one group, one cause, one type of neighborhood, or even a single season. The need is huge; more than 151,000 neighbors in our region are food-insecure*, which means they don’t have reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food. Of those affected in our region, almost 49,000 are children.

You can make a very real difference to our hunger-relief efforts in Southwest Virginia. With your support, we can continue to help children grow strong in mind and body, bring security to families, and provide independence for seniors to continue to live in dignity and good health.
